The LZ120 Rome series, newly designed by Zeppelin, is a homage to the first airship built in the wind tunnel and aerodynamically built by the Zeppelin shipyard in Friedrichshafen in record time. The airship, which was later called "Esperia", was stationed in Ciampino, south of Rome, from 1921 to 1928. From there, it was used for the purposes of representational journeys throughout the Mediterranean.

The Zeppelin LZ120 Rome series is a tribute to the first airship formed in the wind tunnel, aerodynamic and in record time. The gondola for the up to 30 passengers was now connected directly to the trunk and no longer suspended, and resembled a luxurious railroad car.
The shape of the LZ 120 was - and that was sensational for the time - on a 1:50 model in the wind tunnel. The designer senses the diversity and ease of the Mediterranean style of life and translates it into the formal language of the elegantly curved case with its almost already filigree appearance.
The dial design as the face of this classic watch follows this requirement and presents itself with slender and elegant Roman numerals. In addition, delicate line indices are also a creative theme before fine minuteries. The flat housing shape with the arched K1 safety glass (hardened mineral glass) opens up the possibility of giving the dial a fine camber, which additionally increases the optical voltage. This creates a timeless, classic model series, which is also an expression of understatement and good taste.
The case is made of high-quality polished 316L stainless steel. Depending on the model, the housings are optionally also available with a high-quality coating in gold or rose gold. In the versions with automatic calibers, housing bottoms with inserted mineral glass are used, which allow the view of the movement to be released. The housings are offered in the popular sizes 41 mm and 36 mm. So for the lady as well as the men always the appropriate size and the appropriate model can be found.
The dials are available in a total of 5 highly current colors. An elaborate multi-layer finish, for example, gives the black version an extraordinary depth, thus giving the impression of a high-gloss piano lacquer. The blue as well as anthracite and timeless silver luster of the dials are sun-polished and are galvanically refined in an elaborate process in order to achieve a particularly fine and velvety grain.
In the case of the quartz variant with a small second, the movement is turned 30 degrees to the right, so that the crown can be found at 4 o'clock and the small second at 7 o'clock position.
